100% Pinot Noir. Sustainably-Farmed. The Marsannay "Vieilles Vignes" is a blend of different terroirs of the Marsannay appellation. The grapes come from vines that are over 40 years old. Harvesting is done by hand and manually-sorted on arrival in the cellar. The grapes are then 100% de-stemmed before being put into vats. After a pre-fermentation cold maceration of 4 to 5 days, the grapes are fermented naturally with indigenous yeasts. Aged 50% in vats and 50% in barrels.for 10 months.

At the very top end of the Côte de Nuits, the Marsannay appellation still flies pretty much under the radar. But Philippe Collotte and his daughter Isabelle remain tireless champions for this underappreciated area. Marsannay’s clay-limestone terroir is based on the same complex geology of Jurassic limestone that runs the entire length of the Côte d’Or. As a result, the profile of Domaine Collotte’s wines portrays a charming and elegant landscape of terroir and pure, mineral-driven fruit.
