"A mildly oxidative nose reflects the age that this cuvée clearly has along with green apple notes that can also be found on the firmly effervescent, indeed almost foamy flavors that are delicious, seductive and offer sneaky length. This could be aged further or drunk now. For my taste, I would be drinking this now and over the next five years. 90 Points, Allen Meadows' Burghound (Oct 2009) Bright yellow. Musky orchard fruits and orange pith on the nose, with hints of almond and honey adding depth. A powerful, dense style but there’s surprising energy to its ripe apple and pear flavors. A lively citrus quality adds cut and lift to the smoky, nutty finish. This will be very flexible with rich seafood or bird dishes. The reserve wine for this Champagne comes from a solera that was begun in 1874."
